Mammoth Lakes Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing new independent feature, documentary and short films. All films should have been completed within the year prior to the festival. Films completed prior to January 2022 will not be accepted. All submissions must go through FilmFreeway by clicking the icon above. All films of all genres are encouraged to submit to the festival. Cash awards and prizes for features narrative and documentary and all shorts categories will be awarded.

CATEGORIES

Narrative Feature Film

45+ minutes. This includes all narrative genres,
including Foreign, Animation, and Experimental

 

Documentary Feature Film

45+ minutes; non-fiction

 

Narrative Short Film

Less than 45 minutes. This also includes all other Narrative genres, including Foreign and Experimental

 

Documentary Short Film

Less than 45 minutes; non-fiction

Animated Short Film

Less than 45 minutes.

Horror/Sci-Fi Feature

Horror and /or Sci-Fi Features 45 minutes or more. This category is entered into the Narrative Feature competition category.

Feature Length Screenplay

Screenplays of all genres. The top 10 screenplays will be offered passes, housing and travel stipends to attend the festival and network with attending press, industry, distributors and filmmakers. Every submission will receive 3-5 lines of feedback.

Episodic/Web Series

Episodic works between up to 40 minutes. This will be judged in the Short Film Category. Submissions must be the pilot or first episode. 

Music Video

Less than 10 minutes.

RULES

Films must have been completed after Jan. 1, 2022

Films may have screened in other festivals but we do not accept films with past theatrical distribution or that have been broadcast (televised) anywhere in the U.S. before May 28, 2023.

Films may not be available to the public on Facebook, Vimeo, Youtube or any other streaming platform.

 

Films must be submitted with a secured online screener. Screeners will not be returned.


Do not send us masters.

 

No Fee Waivers are available. Entry fees are non refundable.

 

No commercials.

 

If you choose to send a screener, they must be labeled with the title, running time, your email address, and your phone number. Please include your Film Freeway # on the screener.

 

We do consider works in progress, but your film needs to be close to completion and if selected it must be completed before March 31, 2022.

 

Do not send a press kit until your film has been selected.

 

All Non-English language films must have legible English subtitles.

 

Multiple submissions must have separate forms and appropriate fees.

 

The selection committee's decisions are final.

 

If your film is selected, your Blu-ray screening print and Pro Rez file must arrive by April 20, 2023.

 

If your film is selected you must provide two high-resolution screen shots and 2 DVDs for press by April 20, 2023. You will also be asked to provide press materials and a trailer for the website, posters and flyers.

 

All filmmakers under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian submit for you.
